Our talented students of Form 3 and 4 demonstrated the Mehendi artform today by applying beautiful designs on the hands of some members of staff, while other students tried it out for the first time on paper.
This week, Form 1 students created a comic strip telling the story of the discovery of one of the earliest dated artworks in History. The Lascaux cave paintings were created by Stone Age Man 17,000 years ago! Amazing! Students in Form Two created some excellent models to represent the Fatel Razack ship and items used by the Indentured East Indian Labourers such as barracks (living accommodations) and bull cart (for transportation of sugar cane), as well as various tools and kitchen utensils, many of which are still used today. The Form 1 students created an array of wonderful printed designs by stamping with natural materials such as leaves, flowers and vegetables. Our students applied poster paint to brown paper to create these eye-catching symmetrical patterns. These gorgeous designs would look great on fabric!
